I have been publishing poetry in journals for decades.

My second full-length collection of poetry (Each Thing Touches) was very well reviewed (see "Second Book" page for reviews and is available on Amazon.
I love doing readings, leading poetry workshops, and attending writing conferences.
I have studied with poets Carolyn Forche, Mark Doty, Lisel Mueller, and Carl Phillips among others.
I have also had several residencies at the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois and a recent month-long residency at the Vermont Studio Center.
I am a recipient of an Illinois Arts Council award in poetry.
I have recently completed a memoir titled Without. Many pieces from it have already been published. (See "Publications: Prose" page) This page also lists a link to a long story.
I am very comfortable reading and writing in a local coffee shop where I can be spotted most days.
